Atlantic Technology’s FS-BT210 Over-Ear Headphones Deliver Rich Sound at Affordable Price
A great pair of headphones means different things to different people - and the different ways headphones are used by consumers today plays into that equation as well. Are you working out, chilling on the couch, commuting to work? All of the above factors into deciding what headphones make the most sense for a particular buyer.
The earphones/headphones market is enjoying steady growth the last few years and the category shows no signs of slowing down. A recent report done by ReportLinker claims the category is expected to continue to grow at a CAGR of over 13% from now until 2025. That growth is attributed, in large part, to manufacturers focusing their efforts on making even the more affordably-priced headphones comfortable and convenient, with the ability to eliminate external noises and deliver an immersive listening experience.
The ideal headphones have become an important purchase for many of us today as they serve so many purposes - breathing new life into the music we listen to, as well as providing undistorted sound for the podcasts and videos that have also become a regular part of our listening lives.
After playing around with Atlantic Technology’s new FS-BT210 Over-Ear Headphones, just about all of the above boxes were checked.
This latest addition to the Atlantic Technology’s headphone lineup definitely deserves some serious attention as the company has introduced a solid product at a price point that might suggest otherwise ($119).
A few other headphones we’ve tested lately have had a tendency to push the bass a little too much, but the BT210s offered a more pleasing, realistic sounding bass that didn’t take away from the listening experience, instead enhancing it, as proper sounding bass should.
The BT210’s met several of the sound challenges we put them through and excelled in a number of different environments. During the noisy morning commute to work, on a particularly loud train ride into Manhattan, the BT210’s effectively shut out the surrounding chaos and delivered an uninterrupted listening experience. Same could be said for a windy afternoon jog, as the comfortable fit and solid build were unaffected by the constant movement of a little exercise.
Comfort is such a key part of the experience when it comes to headphones and the BT210s offer a perfect fit in this category as well. They feature a closed-back design, complete with plush leather ear cups and a padded headband, utilizing 40mm dynamic drivers for performance from 20 Hz to 20 kHz.
And when you’re talking wireless, battery life becomes an important part of the discussion as well and an onboard lithium battery provides up to 30-hours of wireless performance. A huge selling point in this category.
User-friendly controls, including a built-in microphone, are mounted on the side of the headphones, making wireless operation seamless and fairly straightforward. Controls include the ability to pair Bluetooth, play, pause, and skip tracks, attenuate volume, and place calls. Bluetooth pairing is expedited by an LED light indicator and voice message confirmation. The BT210’s also support aptX-enabled Bluetooth and pack a pair of 1.6-inch drivers in a lightweight structure that weighs just under 10-ounces.
Hands-free calling is supported via a built-in microphone for wireless use and an in-line microphone for wired operation. Earcup buttons control power on/off, Bluetooth pairing with LED and audible confirmation, play/pause, track skip, and volume.
For wired listening, Atlantic includes a detachable 4-foot tangle-free cable featuring a braided nylon jacket, knurled aluminum plug housings with integral strain relief, and gold-plated 3.5mm minijack plugs. A USB charging cable and hard-shell carrying case with an internal accessory pouch are also part of the mix.
For a bit over $100, the Atlantic Technology’s FS-BT210 Over-Ear Headphones are an extremely affordable choice with little sacrifice on quality.
