Attitudes from the Editor
All that said, Dealerscope is not the magazine of the Wal-Mart, Kmart and Kroger type dealers, and we never have been. Just look at the rest of the magazine for proof.
Two business points I need to cover: Dealerscope's parent organization, North American Publishing Company, is soon to launch two newsletters. The first will be headed up by this magazine's former editor, Janet Pinkerton. Her Consumer Technology Retail Week (CTRW) launches on April 7, providing readers with a weekly briefing on the latest in product announcements, retail updates, industry news, research and short executive interviews. It's free, delivered to your e-mail address and you can sign up at www.dealerscope.com. The second newsletter, C4 Trends, will be edited by Susan Schreiner, and will focus its energies on analysis and insight into the consumer electronics industry; Schreiner calls it "news with legs." C4 Trends will launch mid-May as a bi-weekly online source at www.C4Trends.com.
Finally, I want to remind you to send in your nominations for the second annual 40-under-40 awards, as time is running out. See the home page for a nomination form, or simply send me an e-mail with your pick for a young up-and-comer in the CE industry.
