"When I was 16 years old I ate breathed and slept car audio," Lance Putnam told Dealerscope in an interview in 2010. Putnam carried that passion into a 15-year career as car audio installer and owner of Audio Center in Richmond, Kentucky. Putnam passed away over the weekend after a brief battle with leukemia. He was 40 years old.
Putnam is survived by his wife, Jennifer, and his son and daughter.
Putnam, a graduate of Auburn University, worked for Jimmy's Car Stereo and for a Toyota dealership early in his career, before purchasing Audio Center in 2006. In addition, Putnam was active in the Mobile Electronics Retailers Association (MERA.)
