Audio Shines Bright for PRO Group Dealers
Audio sales have emerged as a bright spot for PRO Group dealers, while the TV category continues to dim.
Dave Workman, executive director of PRO Group, whose members met this week in Dana Point, Calif., for their spring meeting with vendors, said group-wide sales of audio components, speakers, soundbars and headphones has increased by double digits over last year. Headphone manufacturer Skull Candy is the one new vendor brought on by the group this year.
“In general, there’s a lot of consumer interest in audio,” Workman said, adding that the interest expands beyond the traditional audio products that make up the DNA of many independent dealers. “The beauty of audio is that it doesn’t jump out at the consumer the way video products do; it needs an educated sales floor.”
