AUVSI XPONENTIAL 2020 Tentatively Postponed to August
As each passing day brings more devastating news surrounding COVID-19, trade shows and events that were hopeful that they might still go on are now rethinking their plans. The AUVSI Board of Directors announced that AUVSI XPONENTIAL, scheduled for May 4-7 in Boston, has now been tentatively postponed to August 10-12 for the 2020 event.
In a message posted to xponential.org, Brian P. Wynne, President & CEO of AUVSI writes:
We are currently working closely with our convention venue and hotel partners in Boston to identify and secure the required amount and types of function space and requisite number of hotel rooms in the City of Boston to successfully conduct AUVSI XPONENTIAL 2020. Once we have secured the necessary facilities and agreements to do so, AUVSI staff will work to adjust all existing exhibitor and sponsor agreements, as well as registration policies, to reflect the new dates. Currently, all existing agreements and terms remain in effect in order to make the transition to the new date as seamless and expedient as possible.
Wynne also made sure to emphasize that they will be monitoring the situation closely and that the new August dates for AUVSI XPONENTIAL might very well be at risk down the road. At that point, he says, they will reassess and decide on a solution that aligns with proper safety measures.
For the time being, those interested in attending AUVSI XPONENTIAL 2020 in August can email XPO20updates@auvsi.org with any questions they may have. AUVSI will also be providing updates on their progress as additional information becomes available.
