Azione Unlimited Spring Conference Stresses Interaction, Growth
Looking for an Out
The closing day of the Azione spring meeting featured a keynote address by St. Louis-based accountant David Prichard of Pritchard Osborne Equity Ventures on the topic “Maximizing Salability” that addressed how dealers can plan for the sale of their business at retirement time. Potential channels for successors cited by Prichard included employees, charitable trusts, co-owners and outside buyers. He identified the following attributes that potential buyers are looking for in a business:
• Revenue predictability
• Year-to-year profitability
• Margin percentage—is there sustainable value in the company?
• Transferability of revenue base—are customers already attached to someone in the company?
• Managers who can maintain the performance level
Until Next Time …
In the tradition of Glikes-led HTSA meetings, the Azione event featured dinners and social get-togethers at local haunts that gave attending dealers and vendors ample opportunities to bond. The April 10 dinner, sponsored by Sonance with cocktails sponsored by SurgeX, was held at Charlie Gitto’s; the following night, dinner at Mike Shannon’s Steak and Seafood was sponsored by Integra, with cocktails sponsored by Access Networks.
Glikes announced that the next Azione Unlimited meeting, for Fall 2013, will be held Sept. 10-12 in New Orleans.
