Hosey emphasized that his company does not buy product from the manufacturer directly and then re-sell it on the site. Instead, HotOffTheWire.com is a neutral site where businesses meet.
"We are a site designed to connect both sides of the buying equation to each other. [We're not] an e-tailer, not an e-competitor," he stressed. "We're an e-resource."
Manufacturers are free to offer any products they choose, including new, close-outs or opportunity buys. HotOffTheWire creates revenue by charging a success fee to the seller each time a sale is made.
