Nook Backer Becomes B&N CEO
Barnes and Noble's e-commerce head, who helped lead the launch of the Nook e-reading device, has been named CEO of the company, the book giant announced Thursday.
William Lynch, who launched both the Nook and the company's digital commerce platform, will succeed Steve Riggio, who will retain his Vice Chairman title. Lynch, who joined the company, was perviously vice president and general manager, E-Commerce for Palm, Inc.
The Nook, the company said last month, was Barnes and Noble's biggest-selling product in the most recent quarter, much as the Kindle long has been for Amazon.com.
