Beats Cofounder Set For Challenge with Roam
We know all about Monster's divorce from Beats Electronics and its attempts since then to compete with headphones of its own. Now, someone else who was present at the creation along with Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine is set to challenge Beats.
Steven Lamar, a cofounder of Beats who left the company years ago and has his been in litigation with his cofounders, has started a new earbud-based headphone company called Roam, whose product is called Roam Ropes. The company, founded last year, seeks to emphasize "superior sound," "progressive design" and "personalization."
First up from Roam is an orange earbud products, created in collaboration with the Stand Up to Cancer charity effort. They're set to debut in the green room during the SU2C special Friday night.
