Having been sued by a state attorney general over a “secret” company that was allegedly used to defraud customers, Best Buy has taken steps to correct the problem. According to the Web site Consumerist.com, Best Buy has added a disclaimer to the Web site shown on its kiosks, stating that “this kiosk displays in-store prices- which may differ from national Internet prices.”
Acting on reporting done by the Hartford Courant’s George Gombassy, Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal in May sued Best Buy, alleging that four stores in the state had run an internal Web site which showed prices different from those advertised on the official www.bestbuy.com site.
