Best Buy Buys Some CompUSA Leases
Best Buy has announced their intention to take over the leases of 17 CompUSA locations, the Star Tribune reported Wednesday. Under the deal, Best Buy agreed to pay $13.5 million to purchase the leasing rights for the stores, which are mostly in Western states.
The CompUSA chain closed last year, but the CompUSA name, Web site, and e-commerce business were purchased earlier this year by TigerDirect, which continues to operate stores under that name in Florida and Texas.
