Best Buy CTO, Geek Squad Founder Stephens Leaving
Best Buy said Wednesday that Robert Stephens, its chief technology officer and founder of its Geek Squad business, is stepping down from day-to-day duties.
"As of today, Robert is stepping away from his full-time duties as our CTO, with plans to relocate to California," Best Buy CEO Brian Dunn said in a letter on the company's website. "It pleases me to report, however, that while Robert will no longer be an employee of Best Buy, he'll continue to work for the enterprise on a handful of critical special projects."
Dunn added that Stephens will "look for strategic opportunities that could be a good fit for Best Buy."
