Best Buy Diverts $3.8 Million to Schools
Best Buy announced this week that it will make $3.8 million available to schools for technology, which will be distributed to the winners of next year’s 2008 Best Buy Teach Awards.
The awards are meant to reward “innovative use of technology” by K-12 schools, and have donated more than $13 million since the program was established in 2004. Prizes between $2,000 and $10,000 will be awarded to schools, with eight districts being awarded $100,000.
The company will be accepting applications through Sept. 30, with winners to be announced in February of next year. Those interested in applying can do so at www.bestbuy.com/teach
