Best Buy Drops E-Bikes
Best Buy has pulled back from its initiative to sell electric bikes in many of its stores, due to lack of consumer interest, BNET.com reported Tuesday.
"We’re shutting down our broader two-wheel electric sales in 27 markets," a Best Buy spokeswoman told the site, citing consumer concerns about how to charge the vehicles as "a huge barrier." During the summer biking season, Best Buy will continue to sell some e-scooters and one bike in 250 locations.
The spokeswoman added that Best Buy is not making commitments at this time to sell electric vehicles, despite some recent news reports to the contrary.
