With Magic Deal, Best Buy Making Urban Push
Best Buy last week reached a multiyear agreement with Magic Johnson Enterprises (MJE), meant to up the chain’s presence in the nation’s urban areas. BlackEnterprise.com reported that the move is the latest in the company’s efforts to expand into racially diverse areas.
MJE, which was founded in the mid-1990s by retired basketball legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson, helps corporations understand how to best tailor their brands to urban communities, while also creating jobs and other economic opportunities in those areas. MJE also owns franchises for Starbucks, TGI Friday’s and numerous other chains with which it does business.
