Free Recycling Begins at Best Buy
Best Buy this week is launching a pilot program of a new free recycling service, which will allow customers to dispose of electronics at no charge, the AP reported.
The program is being launched at 117 Best Buy locations in 11 U.S. states: California, Iowa, Maryland, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Washington, D.C. The electronics accepted in the program do not necessary need to have been purchased at Best Buy.
According to the Star Tribune, the program will accept computer monitors and processors and TVs of less than 32 inches. It will not accept air conditioners, microwaves, large appliances, and large TVs. Customers may only bring two items per day for recycling.
