Best Buy Offers Buyouts to Headquarters Employees
In a surprise move, Best Buy on Monday offered buyouts to 4,000 employees at its headquarters in Richfield, Minn., the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported.
The voluntary buyouts were offered to virtually all of the headquarters staffers, the paper said. The reason for the move is the company's need to reduce "significant expenses" on its corporate payroll. It is unknown how many of the employees the company expects to accept the offer.
Best Buy will announce its latest earnings later on Tuesday.
