When floods struck Iowa last month, Best Buy teamed up with the Environmental Protection Agency to ensure 100 percent recycling of electronic goods collected during the disaster.
According to the EPA, the joint effort, which also included the Materials Processing Corp. (MPC), collected 5,544 pieces of electronic equipment from the floods. They were then taking to MPC’s Minnesota headquarters, which prevented them from being taken to landfills.
Best Buy has participated in the EPA’s “Plug-In To eCycling” program since 2006.
