Best Buy Hosting Photography Workshops Blueprints a Bigger Opportunity
After their rebrand, Best Buy wanted to make sure that they changed more than just their logo. Their entire philosophy seemingly shifted from the big box consumer electronics store of the future to wanting a more humble and approachable demeanor that resonated as a journey, not a destination. They wanted their blue shirts to be more of a friend than a vendor.
And it's working.
We've been screaming it till we are blue in the face, the future of retail is in the experience center. So what better way to double down on that than actually offering reasons to visit a Best Buy store for more than just retail needs? PetaPixel has spotted an interesting new set of photography classes, aimed at teaching absolute noobies how to focus, frame, and shoot in the New York area. It's an interesting idea, the $50 fee is nominal, and the different themes such as Halloween, back-to-school, and holiday card photos make it light-hearted.
