Best Buy Loses CMO
After overseeing a period of considerable growth for retail giant Best Buy, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Michael Linton has left. The reasons for his departure are unclear. His interim replacement will be current Senior Vice President of Consumer Brand Marketing Barry Judge. Linton joined the company in January of 1999 and officially left on August 17, 2006. In that time, the number of Best Buy stores doubled to 960. On the day he left, Linton sold almost $2.5 million worth of Best Buy shares.
