Best Buy Near Exclusive on Long-Awaited Album
They said democracy might come to China before “Chinese Democracy,” the long-delayed new album by erstwhile rock gods Guns ‘n’ Roses, was actually released.
That didn’t happen, but Best Buy, an electronics giant with a presence in China, has reportedly reached an exclusive deal to distribute the album by year’s end. The Minneapolis Star Tribune, citing Billboard magazine, reported over the weekend that Best Buy is “finalizing a deal” to carry the release.
“Chinese Democracy,” the release of which has been delayed so long that it became a pop culture punchline years ago, has been in production since 1994. The record is finally set to arrive by year’s end, barring unforeseen delays.
