Best Buy is one of many retailers that are using cutting-edge analytics to determine, and make decisions based on, consumer behavior. According to a report in BusinessWeek, the CE retail giant has retained the services of Omniture, in order to "get smarter" about the buying habits of its customers.
One example, the magazine reported, was research the company did in order to determine at which dollar level Best Buy should offer free financing on purchases. This move, based on the results from the analytics, saved the company "tens of millions," executives told the magazine.
