Best Buy Opens High-End Manhattan Location
Best Buy’s new Manhattan location, its fourth, is unlike anything ever before introduced by the company- for one, it features the sort of amenities consistent with its Central Park West address.
According to a report in the New York Observer by columnist Chris Shott the new store, located in the Time Warner Center on Columbus Circle, features $200 handbags, horn-loaded tweeters and soft-blue lighting in the ceiling. The three-level location is located at the Southwest corner of Central Park, at West 59th Street, and is adjacent to the Upper West Side, one of the nation’s priciest neighborhoods. The building’s retail segment, known as the Shops at Columbus Circle, also features Bose and “Samsung Experience” locations.
Best Buy opened its first Manhattan store in 2002, on 23rd Street in the Chelsea neighborhood. It has since opened locations on the Upper East Side and downtown.
