Best Buy Opens New Store in China
Best Buy has opened its second-ever store in China, Minneapolis television station KARE reported. The store is located in Shaanxi Province, near Shanghai. The new store, according to the Star Tribune, is Best Buy’s largest in the world.
Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, in Asia for a trade mission in India, was on hand for the opening. Minnesota and Shaanxi have been “sister states” for 25 years. While in China, Pawlenty presented computers, donated by Best Buy, to a nearby school.
Best Buy’s first China store, in downtown Shanghai, opened earlier this year, and its success led to the opening of the second one, ChinaDaily.com reported.
