Best Buy Aims For Awe at Holidays
Best Buy has big plans for the holiday season, with emphasis on mobile phones, home theater, connected media and new technologies, several company executives said Tuesday morning in an online press conference in New York.
Under the special holiday slogan "Give Awe," Best Buy is gearing up for "our most important holiday selling season of all time," CEO Brian Dunn said, adding that the company says that every year. Dunn promised a "Connected Christmas," and that "our industry is loaded for the back half" of the year.
"We think iPads are going to be hot at Christmas this year, and we think tablet computing is going to be very interesting, beyond the iPad," Dunn said, adding that Best Buy will also be carrying an unparalleled assortment of ereaders, including the Amazon Kindle, Sony Reader and Barnes and Noble Nook.
