Best Buy, Samsung Make Magic With NASCAR
Two giants of consumer electronics have collaborated with two from sports, after Best Buy and Samsung teamed up with NASCAR and Basketball Hall of Famer Earvin “Magic” Johnson to raise $400,000 for Magic’s foundation.
The donation came at the Las Vegas Speedway last week, prior to the UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 NASCAR race. Johnson has a relationship with NASCAR through the racing circuit’s Executive Steering Committee for Diversity, while Samsung and Best Buy are running a national promotion, to benefit the Magic Johnson Foundation, throughout the month of March.
The Four Seasons of Hope retail promotion, which involves Samsung products sold at Best Buy outlets, will assist families in inner city communities, by donating a percentage of units sold to the foundation. Four Seasons of Hope also sponsors a NASCAR car that raced at the event.
