Best Buy, through its @15 social network, has launched a contest for teenaged filmmakers to submit their short films. In partnership with Film Independent, the @15 Short Film Contest is meant to encourage young people to take advantage of the filmed medium.
Filmmakers aged 13-18 are eligible, and must be submitted by April 22. The winner receives a $1,500 Best Buy gift card, while other finalists will get one for $150.
“We are excited to provide teens an opportunity to express and nurture their aspiring artistic abilities,” Best Buy senior vice president Paula Prahl said as part of the announcement. “The @15 Short Film Contest continues Best Buy’s dedication to connecting teens with experiences that help shape their futures.”
