Best Buy Makes Billion-Pound Recycling Push
Best Buy Tuesday announced that it has set a target of collecting one billion pounds of recyclable electronics and appliances over the next several years. The push, a significant increase from the 2009 figure of 120 million pounds, is part of the Recycling It On campaign.
Best Buy announced the push at the CES on the Hill event in Washington Tuesday, and will officially launch the effort Thursday, which is Earth Day. The plan will be carried out both in stores and online.
“We believe our employees have the power to help people around the world live more sustainable, digitally-connected lives,” Paula Prahl, a Best Buy senior vice president, said as part of the announcement.
