Several top companies in the CE industry Tuesday announced plans to donate to the relief effort in Japan following that country's catastrophic earthquake and tsunami.
Best Buy said Tuesday it has made a $500,000 donation to the American Red Cross, in order to "help advance their short-term relief and long-term rebuilding infrastructure in Japan."
Walmart made a commitment of $5 million in cash and in-kind donations to the relief efforts. The company is also holding donation drives at stores and distribution facilities worldwide.
