Best Buy Becomes Stadium Sponsor
Best Buy this week reached a deal to become a "founding partner" for Target Field, the new baseball stadium for the Minnesota Twins that its set to open in Minneapolis next April.
According to the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal, the deal is for seven years and will entail the team purchasing 625 TV screens from the retailer, including 400 of the company's Insignia brand. The deal also includes “fan encounter" locations throughout the stadium, as well as signage.
Best Buy has been a stadium sponsor for the Twins in their current stadium, the Metrodome for several years. It joins two other local businesses, U.S. Bancorp Treasure Island Resort & Casino, as founding partners, while Target is the naming rights sponsor.
