Best Buy's Dunn Strikes Back at Critics
Best Buy CEO Brian Dunn took to his blog last week to answer the company's recent spate of bad press. Dunn apologized for the company's cancellation of some holiday orders, but also defended the company against other charges.
In the post, titled "My Thoughts on Best Buy’s Recent Media Coverage," Dunn first took responsibility for the holiday snafu, which he called "our fault." He also agreed with recent criticism of "the overall speed of the transformation of our business model," acknowledging the need to move faster.
However, Dunn took issue both with the idea that physical retailing is now obsolete, and also defended Best Buy's overall business model.
