Amana added to its range of dishwashers with a new removable in-door silverware basket. The in-door silverware basket has a double-basket design for loading silverware and utensils. GE's Front-Load Washer and Dryer are sized large enough to clean 22 full-size bath towels in a 3.7 cubic foot stainless washer basket and dry them in a 7.0 cubic foot dryer drum. The doors have a 15-inch opening and the wash and dry times for similar fabrics are matched to help prevent the traditional laundry room bottleneck. Both are Energy Star products and the washer uses 10 gallons of water for a small loads and 15 gallons for an average-size load. The pair will be offered in white and a new color option, granite gray, will be available in April 2006.
