Big Wheel, Turning
About 20 years ago, Nationwide hired Panamint Group, headed up by David Moore, to work with members on their financial operations needs.
Nationwide's Pittsburgh merchandising/North Carolina services division of labor continued until Guttman died of a heart attack in July 2003. The unanticipated loss of Guttman's leadership rattled the membership, but the group pressed on. Nationwide's Pittsburgh office closed the fall of 2003, and Nationwide moved its merchandisers to North Carolina, hiring two former manufacturing executives—Mike Decker, formerly with RCA, and Adam Thomas, formerly with Frigidaire—to head up the group merchandising. Weisner took on Guttman's merchandising role. In addition to being a Nationwide director, he is also the group's executive vice president of merchandising. Lee Guttman's son, Gershon, keeps an office in Pittsburgh, working on the operations and exhibit logistics for Nationwide's Prime Time events.
