Bill and Jerry: Round Two
The first TV commercial starring Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld may have left many viewers scratching their heads, but the two titans are back, just over a week later, with another effort.
The new ad, titled “New Family,” was released Friday in a Web version that over four minutes long but is appearing on television in shorter form. In it, Seinfeld and Gates are staying in a small home with a large family, in order to “connect with real people.” They read to the kids, play ping-pong, fight over food from the refrigerator, and are eventually accused of stealing a toy giraffe from the family.
As in the first ad, it ends with Seinfeld asking Gates about some bizarre computer innovation of the future, and getting him to give a signal, which Gates then does. The ad then closes with the on-screen phrase “Perpetually Connecting,” which then shortens to “PC.”
