Blockbuster To Close Hundreds of Stores
Blockbuster has announced plans to cut more than 900 stores by the end of 2010, according to government filings cited by the AP.
The closings would amount to a 20 percent reduction of the chain's footprint. The chain, which has closed more than 250 stores already this year, plans to close between 810 and 960 by next year's end. It currently has 4,356 U.S. stores.
