Blu-ray Player Sales Nearing Five Million
While the five millionth Blu-ray Disc player will likely be sold by year’s end, the high-definition format will not reach DVD levels of market share anytime soon. That’s according to a report issued this week by research firm In-Stat.
The report, “Worldwide DVD and Blu-ray Market,” also found that worldwide sales of DVD players, which reached 142 million in 2007, will decline this year, mostly due to market saturation.
