Book Confirms Apple Worked on Branded HDTV
Years of rumors about Apple giving consideration to entering the TV business have been confirmed in Walter Isaacson's new authorized biography of Steve Jobs.
According to a Washington Post report, Isaacson writes in the book that Jobs "wanted to do for television sets what he had done for computers, music players, and phones: make them simple and elegant." The TV would be integrated with Apple's ecosystem via iCloud, with iOS devices used as remote controls.
It is unclear how far along Apple is in development of such a product, or what plans Jobs' successors have for a TV entry.
