Boxee Box Delayed
Boxee's Boxee Box by D-Link product has been delayed until November, the company told Engadget.com Friday. The delay, the company said, is "software-related." The end of the second quarter was the original scheduled release date.
"The goal is to play HD videos from the web or a local network in 1080p and use hardware acceleration whenever possible," Boxee's Avner Ronen said on Boxee's official blog. "And to provide a TV browser experience that can handle almost everything you throw at it, including Flash 10.1. Not to mention making all this happen for an affordable price and on a quiet device that will not feel obsolete 12 months after you buy it."
Boxee was the first winner of CEA's i-Stage competition, in 2008.
