BREAKING NEWS: Samsung’s Jim Sanduski Joins HP
Just two weeks after having been promoted to the position of senior vice president of sales for Samsung, Jim Sanduski has accepted a position with HP in Cupertino Ca. The job, a newly created position will be as vice president of the digital television solutions unit. In this role, Sanduski will be leading the back end business in charge of developing HP’s digital television strategy, product planning and delivery. Included in his supervision are HP’s Media Smart televisions which include wired and wireless broadband support.
Sanduski told Dealerscope that he was attracted to the role because it provided him the opportunity to be involved in the product planning, rather than marketing products on the front end, which he had been doing at Samsung. “This is an opportunity for ... developing the future roadmap for products,” he said. In addition, the role is global. “Over the midterm we will look to expand marketing globally.”
He also noted he was attracted to the challenge of enhancing HP’s brand awareness in the CE community. “It’s an opportunity to take a tier one PC brand and translate that to greater awareness in the television space and build it into a top marketshare brand.”
