Taking It to the Street
Today retailers continue to ask, “How can I get more customers into my door?” This seems to be one of the largest concerns for many retailers across the country. Advertising costs continue to rise, and reaching your customers with adequate frequency has become increasingly difficult. Driving customers into your store has become more challenging than ever before.
There is a tried and trusted method of generating store traffic, but it requires an investment in time and money. That method is all about taking what you do best to the public. There are many events in your area that would enable you to get in front of new customers. Consider exhibiting at sport, car, RV, boat and travel shows; home, lifestyle and “big boy toy” shows; fairs; and any city events that allow retailer booths.
Today’s society reacts well to personal contact. Relationship selling has become more crucial, due in part to all of the e-mail, Internet and direct-mail messages that are flooding your customers’ senses. What other methods of advertising do you have at your disposal that allow you to actually show customers what you do in a vehicle? Think about what you can do to talk one-on-one with each and every potential customer. Personal interaction is very powerful.
