BSH Home Appliances Corp. Celebrates N.C. Dishwasher Plant Expansion
BSH Home Appliances Corp. has just cut the ribbon on the 100,000-square-foot expansion of its dishwasher manufacturing facility in New Bern, N.C.
The $32 million, 100,000-square-foot-expansion builds on the already existing 245,000-square-foot facility and gives BSH, which markets the Bosch, Gaggenau and Thermador brands in North America, an even larger footprint for manufacturing and operations to support future growth. It also follows on the heels of BSH’s production of its 10 millionth dishwasher, and is a benchmark in the company’s 20-year production history in New Bern, where it employs 1,400.
Through the $32 million expansion, BSH says it will drive greater operational efficiencies, introduce new equipment and processes, further ensure the quality of its dishwashers, enhance the employee experience onsite and prepare for future production growth. The new facility includes new equipment and processes, centralized warehousing, a larger footprint for quality testing and measurement, two new 1,700-square-foot training rooms and a larger break room for employees. The expansion also allows BSH the opportunity to prepare for future demand growth.
The expansion cements BSH’s commitment to the communities of New Bern, Craven County and the state of North Carolina, where it supports philanthropy and education funding and where it also recently donated 10 dishwashers to the local Habitat for Humanity chapter in celebration of the 10 millionth dishwasher milestone.
