China's production base makes the cost-to-go-to market ridiculously cheap ("It's insane the number of MP3 brands available in the Chinese market," says Thibodeaux.) But CEA executives report an awakening Chinese interest in profit, not simply market share.
Thibodeaux predicts China "will become a center of much more product innovation, going forward. The companies we met with on the trip are definitely looking at all of the same things that companies who exhibit at CES (in Las Vegas) are: the digital home, making the content experience better and more entertaining for consumers."
