For a second consecutive year, Best Buy, which operates a sourcing office in Shanghai, had a big presence at SINOCES "with many representatives on the show floor and meetings during the event," Thibodeaux said. Thibodeaux encourages any U.S. vendor or retailer interested in the China market to use SINOCES. "The show is a good venue for understanding the market, its people and dynamics," he says. "It will be and already is a gigantic opportunity all kinds of companies.
"The Chinese are very welcoming; they want to see U.S. companies come into their markets and sell them products," he says. "China has a huge domestic market that will provide lots of opportunities for everybody."
For his part, Cole was impressed during the trade mission to China. "This is a country [that's] not fooling around. They've got it together—you can feel it in the air."
