Verizon Plans to 'Reinvent' Home Phone With Hub
Have you gotten rid of your home phone? There's a good chance you have. But Verizon is hoping to bring back a flagging technology, seeking to "reinvent" the home phone with its new Hub.
The product, which the company introduced at the CTIA show last week, includes VOIP technology as well as multiple Web-connected features through use of a touch screen that easily accesses voicemail, Web and even text messaging. The Hub phone was released last month and will be upgraded in the coming weeks with new software.
The Hub sells for $199.99 (after rebate), with a $34.99 a month service contract.
