Caavo Spotlight HDMI Cable Ends Cord Confusion
It’s a tall order to try to innovate a product category like HDMI cables. We’ve seen some very well-thought-out and successful attempts. But there’s really only so much you can do and only so many “problems” that need fixing. Leave it to a Silicon Valley-based startup to find a way to do just that.
Caavo Inc. announced the launch of its Spotlight HDMI cable that has one goal in mind: helping consumers quickly identify which component their cable is plugged into. Using patent-pending light-up technology, the user can press a button near the end of the Spotlight cable that activates an LED indicator on both ends of the cable, making it quick and easy to see what component the cable is connected to and what input on the TV it corresponds with.
Granted, it’s not an earth-shattering or category-upending type of innovation, the Caavo Spotlight HDMI cable is still successful in solving a minor inconvenience and saving the user time. At the end of the day that’s all we really want from our technology, right? Rather than fight through a sea of cables that run from the TV to one of a dozen different components, you can simply hit a button and find the light at the other end of the tunnel, so to speak.
