In starting our own product review channel here at Dealerscope (you know, all of that UNBOXED stuff we put up every now and then) we've come to seriously love the headphone market. Nowhere else in the tech industry is there a single concept that has so many different takes by so many different companies. Bluetooth speakers are right up there with them, but headphones just can't be matched right now. There's on-ear, in-ear, over-ear, Bluetooth, earbuds—the list goes on and on and on.
So you can just imagine the excitement that was running through our office here when we discovered Head-Fi, a community of headphone and personal audio enthusiasts, which hosts the CanJam global conferences. To boot, Head-Fi announced this year that one of its shows would happen just a short hop away from us in New York.
CanJam, which has been around since 2006, provide manufacturers in the headphone and personal audio space a platform where they can launch new products, show off their latest tech, and get face to face with members of the press (like us), headphone enthusiasts, and other key figures in the tech community. There is some education that takes place at these events, but the main attraction is the exhibit space, which will see dozens of companies fill up the Marriott Marquis in Times Square.
