In a statement emailed to Dealerscope this week, consumer electronics distributor Capitol unveiled its strategic plan for CES 2018 in January. The group, which services the residential systems, light contractor, and premium incentive reseller space, will have its team on the ground in Las Vegas focusing on new audio and video products that “tap into the potential of the Connected Home.”
“An increasing number of audio and video manufacturers are incorporating voice control in new and even existing products,” Curt Hayes, President and CFO of Capitol said in the statement. “Compatibility with voice control technologies is turning up in an increasing number streamers, AVRs and TVs, and with it, we’re seeing an increase in networking products like wireless routers and WiFi extenders.”
Hayes said that, as a distributor that caters to both the consumer and custom side of the electronics market, Capitol is actively seeking to expand its selection of connected tech products—especially those who are exploring the potential of whole-home entertainment, security, and HVAC.
