"I've never been more convinced that car audio is not dead," he added. "It's in hibernation. We just need the key to wake it up."
Vicky Scrivner thinks she has found the key to selling quality head units, which is one step that can lead to the eventual sale of additional gear.
"People keep asking how long head units are going to be around, but they're not dead yet," she said, echoing Vogel, who also says head-unit sales are up within his business and among some MERA members. "The iPod has really resurrected the head unit. Nobody would have thought that five years ago."
