According to a new report from the website Electrek, done in collaboration with their sister site 9 to 5 Mac, Apple has poached yet another former employee of electric car manufacturer Tesla. This time, the Cupertino-based consumer electronics giant nabbed former Tesla vice president of vehicle engineering Chris Porritt (who also spent some time at Aston Martin as their Chief Engineer) to work on “special projects.”
And, as the Electrek notes, “special projects” at Apple is where the rumored Titan car project lives.
The unannounced hire, if true, comes just a few short months after Apple reportedly parted ways with Steve Zadesky, a 16-year Apple employee who previously oversaw Project Titan. At the time, the Wall Street Journal cited people familiar with the matter as saying Zadesky left because of “personal reasons.”
