CE 2003 Year in Review
Jarod Smith, senior sales and merchandising manager of electronics, Buy.com
By far, the biggest seller has been digital cameras. The market has exploded this past year with the introduction of many new low price points and high-end products. The $99 two-megapixel models hit at the end of the year propelling sales just before the holidays. The new SLR five-megapixel and six-megapixel cameras, although hard to come by, have been big sellers as well and have really boosted the average order spend of our customers. Every memory vendor has benefited from this explosive marketplace. Sales of flash memory has been through the roof and we have seen vendors having a difficult time keeping up with the demand.
